Anonymous had an experience with a Ghost near New York, New York, U.S.A. in 1999. Here is his story:

There is an old saying that "money talks", This may not be much of a ghost story but sure is strange.

There was an old lady that lived nearby where I lived as a kid. Everyone thought she was a witch. This may or not be true but she certainly had a gift very few had. She could talk the fire out of a burn (even a bad one and there would not even be a red spot). She could also see things that were going to happen; sometimes long before they did. This lady was always nice to me so I stopped by to talk to her whenever I could. This is a story she told:

Her sister came to visit her and told her that there was something very wrong with the house they had just moved into. When Mrs. Smith asked what it was, she was told that there was something in the wall. Sometimes it made a scratching sound, but most of the time it sounded like someone talking in a whisper. She said it happened several times a week and sometimes it happened every night.

Mrs. Smith told them there was something in the wall and something was trying to let them know. Her sister ask what, and Mrs. Smith said, "I think something valuable made of silver." She told them to take a few boards off and look inside the wall where the sound was coming from.

When they pulled the first board off they saw a leather bag, inside was twenty silver dollars, several half-dollars, a few quarters, one gold five-dollar piece, and a half-dime. All of the coins were dated in the late eighteen hundreds and early nineteen hundreds.

Everyone in the family was in dire need of money at the time so they split the coins between them. It was almost one hundred dollars total. A well-off guy down the street bought most of the old coins from them but Mrs. Smith gave me the half-dime, which I still have.

It may just be the money didn't talk, but something sure did. This story was told to me when Mrs. Smith gave me the half-Dime. I still have it and will keep it as a reminder that strange things do happen.
